How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb

"I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous."

Matthew 5:44-45

"A new command I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

John 13:34-35

The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

I Peter 4:7-9

Been reading in and hearing preaching from Colossians 3 of late, of which this is highly reminiscent. Christians are marked by our continually-putting-up-with kind of humility, our continually-forgiving kind of meekness and kindness. Primarily, we ought to be marked by our continually-putting-up-with kind of love, our continually-forgiving kind of love. (Since those are the only supernatural kinds. The other love you can find on occasion - in clubs and klans and fraternities and fans and neighbors and coworkers and hospitals and bands and families and bars where everybody knows your name.)

SPIN magazine has a pretty candid article, Jonathan -- I'm not sure the date, but pretty recent bc I was reading it at B&N Saturday evening. If you haven't read it yet, I think you'd enjoy it.
